Student Life
Student life at Holy Family Academy is carefully
structured to cultivate the whole person. Unless tomorrow's Catholic
leaders are formed in all facets of our Catholic heritage, the renewal of
Catholic culture will be impossible.
- Prayer and the Sacraments are an integral part of the
daily curriculum.
- Extra-curriculars are not extra at Holy Family
Academy. All upper-grade students participate in Choir, Drama, Rhetoric
and Intramural-Athletics.
- Small class size allows standards and structure to
coincide with individual attention and full participation in education
and activities.
- Catholic culture: the School follows the liturgical
calendar with a celebration of feast days, festivals, processions, May
Crowning, Stations of Cross and Memorials.
- Pilgrimage in the footsteps of Catholics throughout
the centuries is also an important part of the schools annual schedule
culminating in a quadrennial pilgrimage to Rome, the Eternal City, for a
concrete experience of glory of the Church that is both historical and
global .

Prayer and the Sacraments
The encounter with Truth in the classroom
can only take place when it coincides with the encounter with the Person
Who is Truth at the Altar.
Mass and rosary are an important part of the daily
schedule. Students also have opportunities for frequent confession.

May you,
the Catholic young people of the world, not fail him. In your hands,
carry the cross of Christ. On your lips, the words of life. In your
hearts, the saving grace of the Lord.
-Pope John Paul II (World Youth Day Denver) |

Music
If the treasury of the Church's sacred music is to be
preserved, it must be acquired and cultivated by the younger generations.
All upper grade students participate in Santa Familia
Cantores, where they not only learn the principles of sacred music, but
sing Gregorian Chant and Polyphony for daily Mass.
|
The musical tradition of the universal
Church is a treasure of inestimable value, greater even than that of
any other art. The main reason for this pre-eminence is that, as a
combination of sacred music and words, it forms a necessary or
integral part of the solemn liturgy.
-Sacrosanctum Concilium |

Drama
All
students in the upper grades take performing roles in an annual play. This
is the only way students can truly come to appreciate the classics of
drama.
Some of
our past productions include plays written by: Sophocles, Euripides,
Shakespeare, Corneille, Wilde, Schiller, Goldsmith, Calderone, and Moliere. |

Athletics
Students participate in intra-mural athletics for physical
eduction.
We offer the following sports:
